Biography
The entrepreneur was born in Moscow, but now holds a Kazakhstani passport and lives in this country. Having achieved success, he decided to work in the homeland of his ancestors.
The future financier began his career immediately after graduating from school at the age of 16. His first job was as a trader in the American company World Capital Investments (WCI). He was engaged in securities trading, then moved to a subsidiary of UniCredit Bank, where he also carried out activities to create conditions and infrastructure that provide access to American stock markets.
He founded his own company, Freedom Finance, in 2008. It expanded not only due to brokerage activities. The businessman wanted to get a diversified holding company engaged in banking, insurance, and consumer services. The activity expanded through mergers and acquisitions of relevant companies, and as a result, Freedom Holding Corp. was created.
The result of the development was the placement of the company’s shares in 2019 on the American technology exchange NASDAQ. This speaks of the reliability of the holding, its full compliance with American legislation.
Current activities
However, Timur Turlov does not stop there, in addition to business, he tries to solve social and public problems. Such a project was the development of the Tatler Kazakhstan magazine. It is also planned to localize and distribute it in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
Among the features of the magazine, it is worth highlighting the release of a paper and electronic version, each issue will be published in Kazakh and Russian. A significant presence is also planned in almost all social networks in order to promote information for young people.
An important task of the new project is to support people of culture – directors, musicians, designers and artists, promote social values, create a certain environment for the development of arts, sciences, and involve young people in this work.
